We are the primary referral centre for the Vancouver Coastal Health Region. Our geographically vast catchment area results in a high volume of patients, of all ages. At POSM we manage a broad scope of musculoskeletal disorders including acute trauma, sports and athletic injuries, as well as chronic and degenerative conditions such as arthritis. Setting
POSM offers a turn-key practice in a newly built facility located in the Central Lonsdale area of North Vancouver, near Lions Gate Hospital. Our centralized patient referral intake and triage system promotes high-quality referrals. Through our multidisciplinary approach and direct affiliation with Lions Gate Hospital, we offer many care pathways including physician assessments, advanced practice physiotherapy assessments, education and counseling, non-surgical treatments such as injection therapies and bracing, surgical management (both acute and elective surgery), and rehabilitation. There are regular opportunities to collaborate directly with the surgeons for diagnostic clarification or to refer patients for surgical management. POSM is a paperless office (EMR) with a common patient database. Administrative support is provided by our office manager and a team of medical office assistants. Ambulatory radiology facilities are located within 1 block of the office.
