
Sport Medicine Physician Locum at BCI Performance Medicine Clinic in Calgary, AB

Location: Benson Concussion Institute Performance Medicine Clinic, WinSport, Calgary, Alberta
BCI is an innovative performance medicine and sport concussion clinic founded on over two decades of sport injury research and clinical experience. We have a state-of-the-art 3,500 square-foot clinic and rehabilitation facility at WinSport’s Markin MacPhail Centre. Our high-performance healthcare team are leaders in their respective fields and work collaboratively with the Canadian Sport Institute Alberta to serve the performance medicine and rehabilitation needs of Canadian Olympic, National, Provincial and Elite Community athletes.
BCI is seeking a Sport Medicine Physician Locum who is interested in sport-related concussion and seeing Canadian National athletes from January 5 – February 27, 2026. The Physician will see patients and undergo training with BCI’s proprietary multi-modal neurological assessment technology, techniques and management strategies in January 2026 and run a busy clinic during the month of February while Dr. Benson is away with Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano / Cortina, Italy.
The Locum will also have an opportunity to join our Performance Medicine Clinic working in a spirited and collaborative inter-disciplinary environment serving the Performance Medicine needs of our Canadian National & Alberta Provincial athletes affiliated with CSI Alberta as well as the high-performance sport concussion needs of the sporting community at large.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP)
- Completion of an Enhanced Skills PGY3 Sport and Exercise Medicine residency program with a Certificate of Added Competency (CCFP-SEM)
- Diploma in Sport & Exercise Medicine (Dip. Sport Med.) from the CASEM
- Registered in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
- Carries required coverage through the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
